I never imagined that a toy like a paper doll could give that much learning for my child. I gave a paper doll to my daughter just because it was something that I enjoyed when I was young. Now, she is enjoying it herself. Now, I know that I made the right choice in giving her a paper doll.

I am always fascinated with how children develop stories in their heads with regard to playing dolls and playing house. I wonder how they come up with these scenes. Maybe it is because of what they watch or because of what other kids say when playing with their dolls.

Nice article. I will now give paper dolls to my niece on her birthday. I agree with you that paper dolls really enhance the creativity of kids in a way that is not forced. Since they are just playing, it may seem that she is not learning. But really, she is learning through playing.

I agree. Most kids learn through play. My twins learned to identify colors through painting and play ball. It’s amazing how we can integrate learning while they enjoy them. 🙂
